Founded 1937
Founded by Dada Lekhraj (Prajapita Brahma Baba) in Hyderabad, Sindh. The movement was women-led from the beginning — unusual and significant for its time.

UN consultative status
Brahma Kumaris is an international NGO with general consultative status at the UN Economic and Social Council and consultative status with UNICEF and UNESCO.
